There’s nothing that makes it feel like summer more than a visit to a good old-fashioned ice cream counter – the kind where the flavors of the day are plastered in the window and where the portions are huge and the prices are low. After all, sometimes you just need to indulge in a few scoops – especially on those hot, humid days when nothing but ice cream will do. Next time you feel that way, make a beeline for the Upper Valley!
Ice Cream Fore-U in Lebanon is easy to write off as just another ice cream stand attached to a mini-golf course – and located practically in a Home Depot parking lot no less – but we promise, this place is worth a visit.
They serve delicious Gilford's ice cream, frozen yogurt, and sorbet, with a huge range of flavors ranging from the classic to the unusual. The portions are huge – you're probably find with a small unless you're having ice cream for dinner (in which case we have nothing but respect for you).
The soft-serve is also a favorite, with standard flavors as well as rotating specials like coconut and bubble gum. The prices are very reasonable, too!
Can't choose between flavors? Get a few different scoops! You can get two flavors even in the small size.
If you're feeling really indulgent, go for the banana boat! You might want to share this one with a friend, it's pretty darn massive! You can choose 3 flavors of ice cream and 3 toppings to make your dream dessert.
When you're done with your treat, mosey on over to the driving ranges, mini golf course, or batting cages. This is the kind of place that's perfect for spending a summer Sunday afternoon.
There's a great play area for kids to run around, too – perfect when they've got a sugar rush!
You can find Ice Cream Fore-U at 298 N Plainfield Rd, West Lebanon, NH 03784 . Check out their website for hours and more information!
