If there’s anything more peaceful, fulfilling, and fun than heading off on a hike in New Hampshire we’d like to hear about it! That’s because we’re pretty confident that the trails here lead to some seriously unbeatable scenery. The destinations are often special, like the waterfall found on this hike, but the journeys are just as fantastic.
While not the tallest, Fletcher Cascade is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the state and it teaches us that nature doesn't need to be spectacular to be awe-inspiring.
Fletcher Cascade Trail in the Sandwich Range Wilderness is one of the most fun if you're up for a good adventure that leads directly to this waterfall!
The route is a 3.2-mile out-and-back trail which means once you've reached the end you'll simply turn around and head back the same way you came. Easy!
The trail is rated as moderate for a few reasons. First, the elevation gain isn't huge but at about 750 feet you're likely to notice it. Second, the trail has quite a few rocks and exposed roots so you'll want to be sure you have a confident footing before taking this hike.
Once you reach the falls, you'll be glad you ventured out! Just after a rain or in the spring, it's likely to be a full cascade off of a staircase-like ledge.
Fletcher’s Cascade Trail can be enjoyed year-round, but always be extra-careful when exploring in rainy or wet conditions. Snow, rain, and ice can make a fun hike a bit more treacherous. You can learn more about the route by checking out Alltrails. And if you hate to leave the dogs at home you’ll love that pups on leashes are welcome to come along on this route.
