This Hidden New Hampshire Estate Is A True Treasure With Stunning Views
It’s safe to say that most New Hampshirites have not heard of Weeks State Park — and that’s a real shame. Way up north in Lancaster, this state park is built upon the 1912 estate of John Wingate Weeks, a leading conservationist, US Senator, and the Secretary of War for Presidents Harding and Coolidge. The forests and fields of the park are spectacular, and it’s a wonderful place to hike, but the real treasure hiding here is the old mansion itself.
Weeks State Park is located on Route 3 in Lancaster, and it opens for the season with limited hours in mid-May — check the New Hampshire State Parks site for details.
