Hey! I'm a freelance writer and guidebook author. I've authored "New Hampshire's 52 With A View - A Hiker's Guide", serve as editor of Appalachian Mountain Club's "Southern New Hampshire Trail Guide", and and am co-editor of the "White Mountain Guide", also for AMC. I'm currently beginning work on the 6th Edition of AMC's Southern New Hampshire Trail Guide, which will be published in 2025. I live in southern New Hampshire and can usually be found wandering throughout the state's mountains and forests.
When I think of comfort food, fresh, homemade pasta is way up there at the top of the list. Made with the right ingredients and combined with the perfect sauce, a pasta meal is as satisfying as it is delicious. While the earliest roots of pasta come from China, Italy is the country with which it’s been most associated. But you don’t have to travel to either country for it; you can find some of the freshest pasta in New Hampshire at Valicenti Pasta Farm in Hollis.
Valicenti Pasta Farm in Hollis creates beautiful fresh pasta, unique flavors of ravioli, small-batch sauces, and more. Or maybe that should be amore!
After moving back to Hollis, David Valicenti began crafting his own homemade tomato sauce from crops that he grew behind his family's home. The sauce quickly became a hit at regional farmer's markets.
The farm organically grows its ingredients — everything from tomatoes to eggplant, squash, and sweet potatoes — in its greenhouse and on its 10 acres of fields.
All items are made and packaged at Valicenti Pasta Farm's red barn in Hollis. Valicenti also partners with other small, local farms, dairies, and producers to procure ingredients that aren't grown on the premises.
You won't find any artificial ingredients in this pasta. Everything is made in small batches with only real ingredients and no preservatives or hormones.
The farm also produces a selection of dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free, and vegetarian pastas for those with specific dietary restrictions or preferences.
Great pasta can be found at restaurants all across the state but if you are looking for some of the freshest pasta in New Hampshire, pay a visit to Valicenti Pasta Farm. To learn more about their products, visit the Valicenti Pasta Farm website and be sure to also follow Valicenti Pasta Farm on Facebook.
