While things aren’t always easy, it’s so nice to see that New Hampshirites are always will to help a stranger. Whether it’s neighbors helping each other dig out from a massive snowstorm or making sure that kids get to school on time, there’s something about the Granite State that brings out some serious kindness. We’ve been seeing it a lot more these days and it’s heartwarming. Here’s a great example of a local business helping out! Have another spot that could use a little support right now? Osteria Poggio in Center Harbor is one of the best places in the state to snag a deliciously, home-cooked Italian meal.
From homemade pastas made fresh right in the restaurant to the smiling faces that are always there to great folks, this is the kind of place that reminds us why living in a small New Hampshire town is so special.
They're dedicated to using as much local produce, dairy, seafood, and meats as possible. Any given meal might include food from places such as White Oak Pond Farm in Holderness, Moulton Farm in Meredith, Serendipity Farm in Campton and the folks at Local Provisions in Laconia.
With recent in-house dining shut downs they've been left with a surplus of food. Rather than let it go to waste they've been offering free meals to local New Hampshirites who need it.
This first rolled out on Tuesday, March 24. Between 4 p.m.and 7 p.m. people were invited to come to the restaurant to pick up a meal for the evening. Completely free of charge.
Pick-up has been organized with signs outside to help direct people and encourage them to stand at least 6-feet apart.
The best way to stay up-to-date is by following them on Facebook (link below) to see when they might offer these free meals again.
For information on typical operating hours and to see the Osteria Poggio menu check their website. Or you can follow them on Facebook. They can be reached on 603-250-8007. No word on how much longer they’ll be offering this service, so be sure to check in with them!
