One of the Granite State’s long-distance hiking routes is the Monadnock Sunapee Greenway (MSG), which stretches 48 miles between Mt. Monadnock and Mt. Sunapee. It’s a gem of a trail here in southern New Hampshire and I love to visit it due to the number of day hike options it provides. One of my favorite sections is in the town of Stoddard, where the trail traverses a long ridge lined with blueberry barrens. And my favorite route to get there is a side trail off the MSG known as Barney Brook Trail. It’s one New Hampshire hiking trail you shouldn’t miss.
