Farm-to-table dining is a trend that has been enjoying more popularity in recent years. These types of restaurants source ingredients from local farms and growers, which both support independent agriculture and is more environmentally sustainable. This concept is also being applied to the burgeoning craft brewing industry. In New Hampton, there’s one brewery that’s committed to bringing farm-to-table ideals to their beer.
Throwback is a small, independent brewery, farm, and restaurant located at Hobbs Farm in New Hampton. The brewery sits in a post-and-beam barn from the 1860s.
Throwback's philosophy harkens back to the days of the pre-prohibition era, where raw ingredients were acquired locally. They use this approach to make small batches of high-quality beer.
Throwback's food menu is created just as their beers are, from only the freshest ingredients from local sources, including their own Hobbs Farm. Many dishes can be made vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free.
The 12-acre Hobbs Farm is a working farm that was originally a sheep farm. The local residents include a growing family of goats, pigs, donkeys, and chickens.
Visit Throwback Brewery’s website to learn more about its vision and commitment to environmental sustainability in its quest to also make great beer. Be sure to also follow them on Facebook for all the latest updates and seasonal menus.
