No matter the season, getting outside to enjoy fresh air is always a good idea. That’s one of the best things about being in New Hampshire. Spring and summer bring lush green, followed by the beauty of fall foliage and the stillness of winter. Each of these times is great for exploring and this trail is one of our favorites.
The Falls in the River Trail offers 3.5 miles of woodland hiking surrounded by some of the most beautiful natural landscape in the state. Contrary to the name, you probably won't actually land in the river.
When not hugging the water, the trail meanders through the forest. In some places you'll find exposed roots and rock, so be careful to watch your step. There are also a few areas where you may be scrambling along rock, though these are reported to be minimal and simple enough for kids.
No matter when you set off on this route, you can expect to see beautiful water views and tall trees. It's a beauty!
The Falls In the River Trail can be accessed all year, but be sure to exercise caution when conditions are rainy or snowy. You can learn more about the route, and see a map and more photos by checking out this page on alltrails.com.
