New Hampshire is one of the most beautiful places to visit in the fall. From fun seasonal festivals to hiking and cycling, the fall might be the best time to get out and enjoy the state. That’s especially true given just how nice the weather is this time of year. Warm days mix with comfortable cool ones making it easy to plan a day trip or a weekend away. And when you do, consider heading to this town in the White Mountains!
Jackson, New Hampshire is located in Carroll County, right in the heart of the White Mountains. Incorporated in 1800 as Adams in honor of President John Adams, it officially became Jackson in 1829.
In fact, just about anywhere in this historic town will offer a great view. One idea is to hop in the car with a picnic and simply get out and enjoy it anyplace that strikes your fancy.
If you prefer having more of an itinerary, make plans to tackle The Wildcat Mountain Zipliner at Wildcat Mountain. It will take you 2,100 feet over the trees and the Peabody River. And the end, you'll reach a platform near the Main Base Lodge. Fun, exhilarating and with views you can't beat, this is a must-do when you're in Jackson!
If covered bridges are more your scene, head to the Honeymoon bridge. Built back in 1876, the bridge carries Village Street over the Ellis River. This might be a great attraction to add on to your visit to the river.
