Michelle's life is a colorful map of exploration and adventure. From the iconic streets of New York to the sunny shores of Florida, the jagged coast of Maine to the rugged terrain of Montana, she's been fortunate to call some of America's most beautiful states home. Beyond the U.S., Michelle's wanderlust has taken her on a motorcycle journey through India, led her to teach English in Hanoi, and saw her studying Spanish in Guatemala. Michelle graduated with a communications degree from the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and in addition to a career in advertising has worked with OnlyInYourState since 2016, where her love for travel and storytelling converges. Alongside writing and exploring, Michelle finds joy in photography, staying active, and time with her family.

As we ease into the holiday season in New Hampshire all we can think about are the ways we want to get out and enjoy it! It doesn’t last long so making the most of every weekend is what we plan to do. Whether it’s finding the perfect Christmas tree or spending a night at one of the most festive bed and breakfasts in the state, there are so many ways to get your cheer on here. As you make your holiday must-do list, be sure to add this beautifully festive event to your list.
If you're in New Hampshire during the holidays you'll want to be sure to visit Portsmouth. It's one of the most lovely towns this time of year and there's a very special event that takes place each year at Strawbery Banke.
History comes to life throughout the year, but this time of year the focus is on Christmas history which is on full display in the historic buildings decked out the way they might have been centuries ago.
Those of many faiths will enjoy experiencing what this time of year was like in the 1900s. Visit Mrs. Shapiro who prepares a Hanukkah celebration in her 1919 Russian Jewish kitchen.
Visiting this time of year is a wonderful way to get into the spirit of the holidays, while taking a moment to appreciate New Hampshire's special history.
Strawberry Banke’s 40th Annual Candlelight Stroll takes place on December 7th & 8th, 14th & 15th and the 21st & 22nd, 2019. You can learn more about it on their website or check out the museum’s Facebook page.
