Just about all of the nature in New Hampshire can be considered a natural wonder. We’re lucky enough to have some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, after all. And, the fact that it’s so plentiful means that much of it can be accessed by a quick car trip. No matter what corner of the state you’re in, there’s something beautiful see nearby. And if you’re not nearby, some things are definitely worth the trip!
In a lot of states the term “natural wonder” refers to giant geysers or huge mountains. And, while we have equally as wonderful things here, our natural wonders are actually more plentiful. The difference in New Hampshire is that they’re all around!
These incredible falls are not only spectacular, but they can be seen without a hike, walk or scramble. In fact, you can see them from inside your car.
If you prefer to get some fresh air, head to the green space just beyond the parking area where you’ll find benches and picnic tables. This area will give you a direct view of the falls, up-close and personal!
If you pack a lunch, you can enjoy it while taking in the surrounding nature. Or, if you prefer to make this a quick stop just walk around and take it in before jumping back in the car to continue on your way.
Beaver Brook Falls features an impressive 80-foot drop. And if you visit in the spring you’ll be treated to the snow melt rush of water. In the summer plan a visit for just after some rain and you’ll see an equally as impressive cascade.
If you choose to have a little adventure, you can take the short path near the falls where you’ll find a cute footbridge over the stream. This provides an even better view of the waterfall.
Perfect for a quick trip or a longer day-trip, Beaver Brook Falls is a must for New Hampshirites that love the outdoors.
Beaver Brook Falls Wayside is one of the most beautiful natural areas in Colebrook. You can learn more about it on the New Hampshire State Parks website.
