No matter what else is happening in our world, we always have nature to rely on. And, in New Hampshire, the outdoors offer beauty, calm and the opportunity to relax and unwind. While just about anything will do after we’ve been stuck in our homes all winter, we especially love the water in the summer. This beautiful river offers seemingly endless possibilities!
While there are quite a few wonderful rivers right here in New Hampshire, we’d be hard pressed to find one offering as much fun and outdoor opportunity as the beautiful Saco River.
At 136-miles long, there’s certainly enough river to be enjoyed by everyone! It meanders through the Granite State, while also making an appearance in neighboring Maine.
Wide and shallow, it’s great for groups and for those who aren’t looking for a deep and challenging adventure. And we love that there are so many beaches full of sand along the shore.
While you can slip into the river using your own tube any place that has room, we prefer to leave things to the experts at the Saco Canoe Rental Company in Conway.
Through Saco River Canoe Rental Company you can enjoy a number of different tubing trips. As short at 1.5-miles or as long at 5-miles, these trips are always a great way to cool off.
Time on the water depends on which route you choose, as well as the water levels which can change during certain times of year and weather. These trips can be as short as an hour or as long as seven!
And you won’t need to worry about getting yourself to and from your access points. Saco River Canoe will arrange a shuttle to the starting point and then back to where you’ve parked your car.
In addition to the river being mega-relaxing, the tubes themselves are so comfortable. They come with backrests and you can even rent yourself a cooler tube for your favorite beverages. The scenery along the river is absolutely stunning. Exactly what you’d expect here in New Hampshire.
And, for those with a bit of an adventure streak, you can opt for a trip that includes light rapids. Those who want to enjoy every bit of the relaxation will enjoy stopping along the way to enjoy the beaches.
Either way, you’ll probably be planning your next trip down the river as soon as your first comes to a close!
You can learn more about the Saco Canoe Rental Company through their website. Or, you can check them out on Facebook.
