Our Canadian neighbors to the north know a thing or two about comfort food. Luckily, you don’t have to drive to Quebec for tasty poutine – there’s a restaurant right here in Manchester that specializes in this tasty dish. In fact, they even serve up a five-pound platter of poutine, but we bet you can’t finish it all in one sitting.
Chez Vachon has been in the neighborhood for over 30 years. It focuses on French-Canadian cuisine, and friendly service, and you'll find it at 136 Kelley St., Manchester, NH 03102.
This restaurant serves delicious comfort food including crepes, burgers, sandwiches and more...but their signature dish is poutine. For the uninitiated, poutine is French fries topped with a cheese curds and flavorful gravy.
Order poutine as an appetizer, or get a regular or large-sized order. If you're really hungry, you might want to try the Grand Poutine Challenge - five full pounds of poutine on a platter.
You'll have one hour to finish the entire platter of poutine. If you manage to finish it, you'll get your photo on the wall of the restaurant and have eternal bragging rights.
