Is it just us or does it actually feel like spring in New Hampshire despite the cold temps? Guess there must be something about the way the sun is shining. Regardless of the actual season, we’re planning the things we want to do in warm weather. In addition to hiking and eating, shopping is high on the list. But, not the kind you do in the mall. We want New Hampshire shopping, which means flea markets in small towns. This one is one of the best. It’s not as big as what you might be familiar with in Hollis, but it’s lovely and we think it’s worth a visit.
The Walpole Flea Market might not be the biggest market in the state, but it gets our vote for the best for a nice day out.
And, there's plenty in the way of homemade crafts. The love that goes into the things here is palpable. It's especially nice to spend some time chatting with the artisans and sales people.
You'll often find the same vendors week after week, which means it's possible to develop relationships that let you find what you're looking for. If there's an antique toy vendor and you want something specific, they just might be able to find it for you and bring it the following week.
But, even if you leave empty handed you'll enjoy yourself. They always try to have local entertainment. And if you're an entertainer, this is a good place to perform for an afternoon.
The menu is large and it's fun to get your food and then sit outside. All in all, The Walpole Flea Market is a nice way to spend a day, no matter if you're pockets are full of spending cash or you're just looking to fill your belly.
The Walpole Antiques and Flea Market is located on Route 12, Walpole, New Hampshire. You can learn more about them on their Facebook page. You can give their contact a call on 802-221-4711. Or, email them.
While you’re shopping for bargains, check out this list of some of our other favorite flea markets in the state. And, while we’re waiting for all of them to open you can visit these winter flea markets.
