Over the past decade or two, bookstores around the country have lost ground to online sellers, which sadly has resulted in many outlets shutting their doors. Here in New Hampshire, though, we have plenty of book lovers to support some excellent independent bookstore. One Concord shop in particular has grown a great deal in the recent years, and this year was named one of the best bookstores in the country by Publisher’s Weekly!
Gibson's Bookstore has been in operation since 1898, and Concord book lovers have adored it ever since. In 2013 it moved to a bigger and better location on South Main Street, where it's a true anchor of the Concord community.
They have absolutely massive selection of books – whether you're looking for a classic novel, the newest release, or something more obscure you're likely to find it here.
It's not just readings, either. The store bought a local toy store a few years ago, and now stocks all sorts of educational toys and games in addition to one of the best selections of children's books you've ever seen.
Since 2013, Gibson's has worked with True Brew Barista on a great in-store cafe – it's a perfect place to enjoy a cappuccino and a treat while you start digging into your newest book.
