We can (probably) safely say winter is gone and that spring is here. That means summer can’t be far behind. Whether you’re eager to get outside now, or like to plan ahead for the summer and fall, this list of must-see natural attractions should be kept close at hand.
For those who love the beauty of sunflowers, Coppal House Farm should be a must-see. The farm sits on 78-acres, 10 of which are completely dedicated to sunflowers. Formed just prior to the end of the last ice age, Sculptured Rocks Natural Area is a 227-acre wooded area featuring incredible carved rock structures. It was formed when the Cockermouth River made its way through the area carrying grains of sand that slowly shaped the soft rocks. You can learn more about visiting here.

One of the most notable natural attractions, Flume Gorge is a must-visit for those who want to feel whisked away to another world. Sitting at the base of Mount Liberty, the gorge features stone walls that rise into the air between 70 and 90 feet! And, it's all accessible via a network of boardwalks and stairs. This forested area offers more than 227 acres of pristine forest. And this old-growth forest is home to trees dating back so far that it’s safe to say they’ve been around longer than any of us. This is one of the most stunning and beautiful waterfalls in the state. But, unlike some other attractions this one doesn't require an hours-long hike to see. Simply park, get out and take a quarter-mile trail to reach it!

This natural area is comprised of 6,405 acres. Visitors have the chance to explore ponds, wetlands, and forest, plus there's an unbeatable view of the White Mountains.
