New Hampshire is a beautiful state – that’s undeniable. From the southern border to the depths of the North Country, there are incredible sights everywhere you turn. Sometimes, though, you’ll find a spot that’s absolutely transcendent. We have just one of those places for you – the magnificent Table Rock in Dixville Notch State Park.
Table Rock Trail is just 1.5 miles round trip, but it's definitely a bit steep in spots. The good news is that steepness means you get right to the views!
When you get to the end of the hike, it definitely takes a bit of extra bravery (or craziness!) to take those last few steps out onto the rock itself – there's a 700 foot vertical drop. Of course, you'll want to be careful and not go any farther than you're comfortable with.
If you get out there onto the edge you'll be rewarded with the most incredible views – and if you make a friend wait a few steps behind they can get a pretty darn cool picture of you!
Along with a stunning lake, one of the things you'll spot from the rock is the Balsams Resort in Dixville Notch – famously home to one of the first primary votes in the nation!
The cliffs and mountains surrounding this spot are gorgeous and dramatic – it's the kind of place that puts everything back in perspective and reminds us how small our problems really are in the grand scheme of things.
