New Hampshire – and all of the Northeast for that matter – is not exactly known for the quality of its biscuits, or gravy, or grits. But if you don’t have to travel below the Mason-Dixon line to get great Southern food – just North of the Notch. Munroe's Family Restaurant in Twin Mountain is certainly nothing fancy, but it's popular with locals and visiting hikers alike for good reason – it turns out consistently amazing food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
You can't miss the Redneck Benny – biscuits topped with sausage, poached eggs, and gravy – or amazing biscuit-centered specials like the pictured Mexi Benny, with chorizo, guacamole, and chipotle hollandaise.
