One of the best parts about the Granite State is all the wild beauty that’s found here. And what better way to experience it than on a scenic drive? Route 302 New Hampshire is one such gorgeous scenic drive through the state, and it shows you some of the best of what the state has to offer. Are you ready to jump in the car and travel along this route?
US Route 302 runs east-west for 171 miles between Montpelier, Vermont, and Portland, Maine, and a big portion of it runs right through New Hampshire.
In New Hampshire, you can pick up Route 302 from a bridge over the Connecticut River in Haverhill. This begins your scenic drive through the Granite State.
Not only that, but this scenic byway takes you through the heart of the White Mountains. With such exceptional views along the way, you'll wonder why you haven't taken this drive sooner.
When you get to the town of Carroll, you'll drive through Bretton Woods which is surrounded by the White Mountains National Forest. Consider pulling off the route and going for a hike.
