Of all the ways to enjoy the summertime here in New Hampshire, visiting the many state park lake beaches is one of our favorites. There are many to choose from, but when you want to peace and quiet, you might want to head to one of the more quiet areas. Wadleigh State Park has one of the most lovely lakes in the state and the water offers a day out that feels like a real vacation.
Kezar Lake can be found within Wadleigh State Park in Suttton. It might not be the largest in the state, but it's peaceful, calm and the lake here is absolutely gorgeous.
Beginning in the 1930s, Kezar Lake suffered from pollution and in the 1960s algae blooms were discovered. In the 1970s thje Kezar Lake Protective Association was formed to clean and protect the lake and today it's a vision!
Kezar Lake is a bit of a hidden beauty since so many people flock to places like Lake Winnipesaukee and Echo Lake. But, if you're willing to try something new this is the kind of spot you'll return to over and over again.
