Sometimes it seems like you can’t walk down the street in New Hampshire without crashing into an antique shop – here in the Granite State, we sure do love items with history, and we have plenty of places to spend an afternoon shopping for them. New Hampshire’s “Antique Alley” on Route 4 is particularly loaded with these shops, and one town in particular stands out for its plethora of options.
Northwood is a sleepy town of about 4,000, known for its lovely lakes and close-knit community. It's also an important part of New Hampshire's Antique Alley.
Fern Eldridge and Friends Antiques is a perfect first stop for an antiquing trip to Northwood.
Located in a restored two-story barn, this beautiful spot specializes in formal and country-style furniture, but also offers all sorts of decorative items and knick-knacks. Visit at 800 1st NH Turnpike (Route 4), Northwood, NH.
Consider this one a double whammy. Parker French Antique Center and Parker French West (separate buildings right by each other) house a total of dealers between them.
They specialize in smaller items like jewelry and glassware. Both of the shops offer free coffee and cookies to shoppers! Find them at 1182 & 1190 1st NH Tpke Northwood, NH.
Another great multi-dealer shop, Coveway Antiques offers plenty of browsing to keep you occupied for hours.
Whether you're looking for retro posters, military ephemera, or glass bottles to add to your collection, you're sure to be delighted by the treasures you find here. Visit at 1557 1st NH Tpke Northwood, NH.
You can't miss R.S. Butler's – the two distinctive pink barns positively summon you off the road, and for good reason.
A family-run operation, this spot is a bit less overwhelming than the multi-dealer stores while offering an absolutely massive selection. You can find some real vintage clothing treasures here, along with furniture, decor, and more! Visit at 102 1st NH Tpke (Route 4) Northwood, NH.
Those four stores should get you off to a good start, but there are several more in Northwood if you just can’t get enough! It’s truly the perfect town for antique aficionados.
Once you’ve exhausted Northwood’s stores, venture on to these other New Hampshire antique shops .
