It might be winter in New Hampshire, but that doesn’t mean you have to spend your free time indoors. In fact, it’s the exact opposite! This time of year might be the best season to be in the Granite State. With our incredible state parks, impressive mountain ranges and lovely trails, there’s fun to be had outside year round. And, as adventures go, this one is pretty tame making it a wonderful way to spend a few hours out in nature.

Located nearby the mountains north of the Presidential Range, the views might be some of the best of any easy trail in the area.

To start your journey, you'll begin at the trailhead kiosk at the parking area. You'll find it just off Airport Rd. From here you'll be heading northeast along the easily navigable trail.

The trail will take you along the old Maine Central railroad tracks through a beautiful, young forest. You'll soon reach a powerline. In about a mile and a half, you'll reach the Wallmbek Junction, where three rail lines come together.
