Located in the woods in Bartlett is one of the eeriest abandoned places in New Hampshire and it’s fascinating!

Bartlett, located in Carroll County, is just one more example of a beautiful spot to visit in New Hampshire. There's plenty of room to explore, including spots like Echo Lake State Park.

However, one of the things we love most about this area is that it's home to one of the most interesting abandoned places in New Hampshire.

Known by many as just the "Bartlett Trains," visiting means seeing five trains including three coaches and even a coal car.

And lastly, photographers will appreciate the eerie feel of this abandoned place in New Hampshire. Those who appreciate transportation history will love imagining what it might have been like to sit on these trains and watch the landscape change.

While the trains aren’t hiding they’re not easy to find. To find them, plan on heading to Route 302 not far from Grand Summit Hotel at Attitash. You’ll then be looking for the now-defunct old Bartlett station. From here, the trains are about five-minutes of walking from here. The coordinates are approximately: N 43°06’28.3″ W 71° 10′ 38.0″. Remember that abandoned places are often not maintained, so exercise caution when visiting and never trespass.
