Built in 1837, the Amos J. Blake House has been featured on a number of television shows that deal with ghostly activity. Experts say there are at least 11 ghosts living here as well as the spirit of one cat. For a house this size, that feels like a pretty large ratio of spirits to humans at any given time. Those who work here have reported feeling as though they're not alone (when no other humans are nearby) and hearing non-human voices and other sounds.

The story of Ocean-Born Mary is one that many New Englanders are familiar with. Born at sea, Mary was living with her husband when she found him murdered in their home. Some have seen her looking out the windows upstairs, while others have said she appears at the top of the staircase visible upon first entering the house. She appears to be guarding her home.
