Winter in New Hampshire means getting outside and enjoying the cold and snow while we can. A lot of people might lament that summer isn’t long enough and that winter lasts too long, those who love having fun in the snow know that it’s actually winter that needs some extra weeks. Before you get mad at us for saying that, take yourself to this Manchester ski spot and remember just how great it is to zip downhill on a tube!
Head to Manchester to find McIntyre Ski Area, one of the most adorable, low-key ski areas in all of New Hampshire.
McIntyre Ski Area has been around since 1971 and in 1996 the McIntyre Ski School opened a retail shop and rental area which made this a great place to learn to ski.
All this time the area was owned and operated by the city. Until 2006! That's when the McIntyre Ski School took over all operations and added a ton of things to make the area more attractive for visitors. And today it's an awesome place to spend a winter day.
But that doesn't mean this place isn't popular. On a beautiful winter weekend you're likely to find some sessions sold-out so be sure to arrive early. You won't be able to book in advance, so being at the ski area early will help ensure you have your pick of time.
There are quite a few spots in New England that offer tubing, but we love how simple and easy it is to grab a ticket for this spot. And we really love the magic carpet lift that makes it easy to get to the top.
And then zip your way down. Over and over and over again!
McIntyre Ski Area offers ski and snowboard lessons throughout the winter. You can learn more about how to enjoy everything by checking out their website. You can also visit them on Facebook. Tubing takes place Thursday through Sunday at various times and you can learn more about that specifically here. Tickets are $23. You can give them a call on 603-622-6159.
