New Hampshirites are one of a kind! In fact, you can spot them from a mile away no matter where in the world you are. While some might think it’s based on appearance (beards, flannel, sensible boots – okay guilty!) there’s something more that can make a New Hampshirite stand out. There are some things you just can’t change and some of these habits are a great example.
Some states couldn't come up with anything better than "Show-Me State." It makes us all the more grateful to have such a cool state motto - and we like to mention it to anyone that will listen.
In New Hampshire, it's not unheard of to stop at the side of the road at one of these large liquor stores. They might look like a tourist trap, but we've all stopped at one at some point.

When you grow up in a place like New Hampshire you're used to being outside. But if you move away you'll soon realize that not everyone considers the outdoors to be an option year-round.

New Hampshirites loves to celebrate New Hampshire, so it's not strange to see a town come together to march on a holiday or generally just have a good time. It doesn't matter that there are only a handful of families - it's almost like family.
There are worse things than getting some maple syrup on your fingers. In fact, we'd happily spend our lives covered in the sticky stuff if it means we have a constant supply.

Okay, okay, okay - that might be a bit of an exaggeration. But, living in New Hampshire means we're used to ponying up for the best snow tires we can afford. We need it!
It snows. It's winter. That's life. But, whereas other states might come to a screeching halt with this amount of snow, we know better. This will melt in a few weeks an we can all get back to parking our cars in any parking lot space. No snow = no snow mountain!
We've all seen it - or been there ourselves! Winter is here, snow surrounds us and yet there's still someone walking around in shorts. Winters mean something different to a New Hampshirite and if it's merely balmy, you can bet we're not going to be as bundled up as those around us.

We spent our lives driving on backroads. In fact, most of us learned to drive on streets like this. So, for us, it's not any more daunting that a straight highway. Those in the car with us? Now that's a different story.
But, the real habit here is the fact that we become one each and every autumn. But, here's a tip: If you're from out of town remember that we drive just like everyone else. Try not to stop in the middle of the road to take photos.
While we don't consider New Hampshirites to be a rude bunch, we do have our moments. We have an inability to remain calm about our lack of sales tax and sometimes that means rubbing in the faces of those of neighboring states. Bonus points if you do it to someone from Massachusetts!
