We’re now officially passed the holiday season, which means that going to the mall and waiting in lines for shopping and photo taking isn’t a requirement. But on a cold wintry day, you might be tempted to head the mall just to get out of the house. We suggest you do something different. Rather than heading to the mall (even if that mall offers buttery pretzels and food court snacks!) we recommend trying any number of the wonderful attractions that exist other places in New Hampshire. Once you’ve narrowed down the things you want to do, you might want to share this list with a friend who keeps asking you to go shopping!
1. Enjoy the best of New Hampshire at one of these winter festivals.
New Hampshirites loves a good winter! We have to or else these months would go by very slowly. One of the best ways to celebrate the season is by checking out one of the state's winter festivals. You can pick one from this list and be assured that there's fun waiting for you.
On January 21st, New Hampshirites will have the ability to see one of the most incredible celestial happenings of the year - a full lunar eclipse! But, this isn't just any eclipse. This one will be accompanied by a super blood moon and a wolf moon. Learn all about what that means and when to look up here.
Sledding on your own is fun, but nothing beats the slopes at Granite Gorge this time of year. Get yourself a tube and fly down the mountain to freedom! Find out what types of runs they have and how to get tickets here.

Everyone knows that New Hampshire has the best history in New England. What's tucked up above in your grandmother's attic might be worth more than you can imagine. 7. Take a 60-minute sleigh ride though the forest.

8. See the land from way up high while winter zip-lining!

The coaster at Gunstock Mountain Resort is open year-round, but it's best in the winter. It goes downhill, heading around exhilarating turns and banked corners, as well as fun drops and even some 360° turns. Check out photos of it and get more information about tickets and hours here.
