There are places that don’t get the same amount of attention as the bigger names, but they’re just as worth of a trip. Whether it’s BBQ or a hike that you’re after, start with this list of places you may not know about.
Head to the shores of the Androscoggin River to enjoy kayaking and canoeing amidst some of the most beautiful scenery in New Hampshire. Have dreams of seeing a moose in person? This is the park for you! It's located at: 1437 Berlin Rd, Errol, NH.

There are just 41 residents in tiny Hart's Location, making it the smallest municipality in New Hampshire. Despite being small, it has an independent town government. It's also home to Crawford Notch State Park, which means you'll find some of the most incredible nature in the state right here.

Originally built in 1649, the building that is now this beautiful inn is one of the oldest homes in the Granite State. We love the cozy atmosphere and the lovely onsite restaurant, the Ffrost Sawyer Tavern. This is a place you can visit for an entire weekend to relax without ever leaving. Constructed in 1826, the Old Court House Restaurant building was originally used for the Superior Court for Sullivan County. Hidden in the White Mountain National Forest, this tiny town has a population of just 337 residents. We love it for its many mountains, including South Baldface and Kearsage North as well as the lovely Upper Kimball Pond.

Harman's Cheese & Country Store in Sugar Hill got its start in 1955. Since that time, locals in North Country have flocked here for incredible cheese and a friendly atmosphere. This important museum teaches visitors about the history of Native Americans in New Hampshire, but also does a great job of trying things into the larger United States. Make sure to go when you go be outside to enjoy the arboretum and walking trail. It's located at: 18 Highlawn Rd, Warner, NH.
If you love horses and getting away for the weekend, you'll want to head here. This bed and breakfast comes with its own stables that allow for lots of fun trail rides. Feel free to visit even if you're not staying overnight. Their horses are wonderful and the scenery is beautiful, so you can't go wrong. And, in the winter, you can even go on a sleigh ride! Another great example of a hidden gem here in the Granite State is this candlepin bowling spot. It’s the oldest one in New Hampshire and it’s got a great pub!
