This year, one of the scariest destinations in Nevada is hiding in what seems to be a typical suburban neighborhood. 16th Street House of Hell is one of the state's most beloved DIY haunted houses, and it's a must-visit destination this Halloween.
Located in Las Vegas, 16th Street House of Hell is the wicked creation of one man named Jarrod McClung. An avid lover of horror, McClung takes Halloween to a whole other level each and every year by transforming the street in front of his house into a horrific wonderland of all things scary.
The haunted house is open one night only, on Halloween from dusk until 10:00 p.m. Admission is completely free of charge but the attraction is getting quite popular so be sure to arrive early to guarantee entrance. This creepy haunt is not to be missed.
In cooperation with the city, McClung gets permission to block off the street for the night of Halloween in order to open the haunted house. The giant, 10x80-foot haunted house is chock full of creepy props that McClung has collected over the years.
The decor is on point, but the haunted house also contains dozens of actors who are dedicated to one thing and one thing only: scaring your pants off. As you traverse the haunt's maze of rooms, you'll be forced to confront some of the creepiest and most demented scenarios.
"Official" haunted houses can be expensive, especially for large families, so these DIY haunted houses are a great alternative. Community support for 16th Street House of Hell grows with every year, and it's quickly becoming a treasured tradition for many.
Check out one of Nevada's most underrated haunted houses and experience some scary thrills this Halloween. 16th Street House of Hell was created out of a love of pure horror and it definitely won't disappoint.
