The Chollar Mine played a significant role in all of this wealth, and you can actually tour the same exact mine for yourself.
The Chollar Mine produced ore for 80 years, generating a whopping $17 million in gold and silver during that time. Considered one of the Comstock's leading producers, walking through the mine is an extraordinary experience that will definitely leave you in awe.
The guided tour lasts around half an hour and is comprised of a 400-foot-long walk through the mine. Visitors will be treated to the sight of the original square-set timbering, silver ore, rock drills, and century-old equipment.
