It's actually hard to believe that many of the buildings are more than 150 years old. Although some of the structures have succumbed to the effects of time, others seem like they are in good working condition even to this day.
For example, the Belmont Courthouse is considered to be the town's "crown jewel". The building went under renovation a few years back and the structure itself looks good as new. This historic gem is open to the public for tours by appointment.
You'll be surprised to find that Belmont is actually home to a handful of full-time residents. However, the town is completely off-grid. You won't find any electricity, gas, or food nearby, so come prepared.
Visitors could easily spend hours upon hours exploring everything that this great little ghost town has to offer. Remnants of the incredible Monitor-Belmont Mill still remain, including the large and towering chimney that was used for target practice by Tonopah Air Force Base during World War II.
