The holiday season just got a bit sweeter. ARIA on the Las Vegas Strip recently unveiled their Winter Wonderland display, and we have to say, they’ve really outdone themselves! The highlight of the display is a massive, 15-foot-tall Sugar Palace that could put any gingerbread house to shame. It’s open to the public until January, so head on over to get a good look at this super sweet holiday display.
ARIA Resort & Casino is lighting up the holiday season with a magnificent Winter Wonderland display. Located in the resort's lobby, the display is one of the most impressive in Nevada, as it boasts a 15-foot-tall Sugar Palace as its centerpiece!
The display is currently open to the public and will be on display through Tuesday, January 5. The annual holiday display at ARIA has always typically included a candy house, but the new larger-than-life Sugar Palace is something they had never attempted...until now.
The palace is a true work of art and was created by the ARIA Pastry team, led by Executive Pastry Chef Mathieu Lavallee. The team of skilled bakers spent more than four weeks crafting the Sugar Palace, and the structure itself includes seven types of sugar work techniques!
Weighing in at one ton, the palace's front window is one of the most impressive features of the entire display. Close to 4,000 pounds of sugar went into creating the window, along with 1,000 pressed sugar bricks and 500 sugar tiles made entirely of cooked sugar. Additionally, 400 pounds of white royal icing was used to assemble the structure.
Located in a wonderland setting of white and silver decor, guests will find themselves fully immersed in the magic of the season. A collection of hand-carved oversized ornaments hanging from the ceiling just adds to the whimsy and includes carousel horses, ballerinas, pirate ships, and snowflakes.
The Sugar Palace makes for the perfect setting for a holiday family photo, but that's not all. A retail area at the Winter Wonderland offers unique holiday gifts in the form of chocolate coffee cups, candied chocolate-dipped oranges, white chocolate and peppermint popcorn, and many other tasty treats. The retail area is open Monday to Thursday from noon to 8:00 p.m. and Friday to Sunday from noon to 10:00 p.m.
After checking out the Sugar Palace, guests can relax and enjoy a sweet treat or warm holiday beverage in a physically-distanced seating area. The Sugar Palace at ARIA is a sight to be seen, so be sure to check it out soon!
