The park is open year-round and access to it is completely free. Just bring your own kayak, raft, or tube and you're good to go. The water is absolutely perfect, ranging from 50 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

The whitewater park also happens to be the location of the annual Reno River Festival every May. The festival brings in world-class kayakers who compete against each other on the river. The festival is definitely something every Nevadan should experience. This year the festival is on May 12-13.
