Escape rooms have been all the rage for the past few years, so naturally, there are also some unique variations of this popular attraction. Hiding out in Reno is an immersive escape room that promises to go above and beyond your typical experience. Specializing in “live-action adventure games”, you and your group will be treated to a one-of-a-kind experience that will truly put your wits to the test.
Located in Reno, The Immersium is far from your typical puzzle room. Instead, it offers a fully interactive and entertaining experience that you can completely immerse yourself in.
Founded by gaming enthusiasts Josh and Jamie Morton, The Immersium opened to the public in April 2018. Since then, it's garnered a reputation as a place where you don't just play the game, but get lost in it.
The Immersium combines historical fiction backstories with elaborate set designs in order to create its unique puzzle adventures. Right now there's just one puzzle to choose from, but they plan on adding two more in the near future.
The puzzle that's available is called "Commandeered" and it's truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Your group will board a full-size wooden ship and search for hidden clues in order to complete the story. Theatrical lighting, special effects, and music all come together to make you forget about the modern world that's just outside.
In "Commandeered," puzzle solvers are mercenaries hired by Napoleon Bonaparte, emperor of France, to find and return his traitor brother. The lights will dim, the sounds of the ocean will surround you, and your 60-minute time limit begins.
Groups of four to six people are recommended for the absolute best experience, but they can accommodate anywhere from three to ten players at a time. The missions are designed to be completely family-friendly with absolutely no jump scares or horror elements.
The Immersium takes your escape room experience up a notch by transporting you to the world of the puzzle. Preview the experience yourself and reserve tickets to this immersive attraction at their website . Put on your thinking caps and have fun!
