One might think that Halloween attractions come and go with the holiday, and that’s true in most cases. However, here in Nevada we like to have our spooks all year long. That’s where this haunted museum comes in. The museum is year-round but it especially makes for an excellent way to get into the Halloween spirit this time of year. Be warned, though. This place is not for the faint of heart. It’s called the Haunted Museum for a reason and you’ll see why once you visit. Consider bringing a friend for moral support because you’re going to need it!
The name Zak Bagans might ring a bell if you live in southern Nevada. A Las Vegas resident, he gained national fame with his documentary-style show called Ghost Adventures. However, his obsession with the paranormal didn't end there. Just a year ago he opened the doors to The Haunted Museum and it might just be the creepiest place in the state.
This eerie museum is the perfect place to go if you've been itching to get into the Halloween spirit. Comprised of 11,000-square-feet, this museum is stuffed to the gills with creepy objects, some of which are believed to be actually haunted.
For instance, the museum is home to the world's most haunted object—The Dybbuk Box. It may look like just an old vintage wine cabinet but don't be fooled. It's believed to house a malicious spirit. The artifact was even the inspiration of the movie "The Possession".
Venture down the museum's creepy winding hallways and secret passages. You'll come across more than 30 unique rooms that look like something you'd see out of a horror film. In fact, this place is so terrifying that children under the age of 16 are not permitted to enter.
One of the creepiest attractions is definitely the Doll Room. Among the dozens of dolls that the room contains is "Peggy". It's believed that Peggy the doll is possessed by a demon. Touching her is supposed to cause sickness and strange paranormal occurrences...so maybe keep your hands to yourself.
Another one of the museum's most terrifying artifacts is Bela Lugosi's haunted mirror. Looking straight into the mirror might cause you to feel an intense fear and some people have even reported seeing a dark figure staring back at them. Creepy!
If you're a true crime enthusiast, you'll likely be mesmerized by all of the serial killer artifacts that the museum also contains. These rare items include things like John Wayne Gacy's clown paintings and Charles Manson's bone fragments.
With Halloween quickly approaching, we can't think of a better place to indulge in all of the spooks and scares you can take. Zak Bagans' Haunted Museum is a one-of-a-kind attraction you won't find anywhere else. However, just be warned that this place isn't messing around!
You'll find Zak Bagans' The Haunted Museum at 600 E Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89104.
