Nevada is pretty famous for extraterrestrial-related occurrences. Whether you believe in them or not, there’s no denying they have become an important part of our state’s culture. “The UFO Capital of the World” is even located right here in Nevada. This small town may not look like much, but it’s become pretty famous for extraterrestrial activity. UFO enthusiasts flock to the town, hoping to get just a glimpse of something from another world.
The sign that greets you states "Welcome to Rachel, Nevada. Population: Humans 'Yes', Aliens '?'" They are well aware of their reputation as one of the best places to spot a UFO. It's a popular tourist spot for earthlings with an interest in all things alien-related.
Rachel was established not that long ago, back in 1973. In its heyday, the town was home to approximately 500 residents. However, many people left when the nearby mine closed in 1988. Most of the people who live here are retirees if they don't work at the town's one running business.

The owners of this kitschy eatery welcome visitors to the town all year long, and will gladly divulge about the latest alien sightings or activity. Be sure to pick something up at their small gift shop inside the restaurant. And don't forget to take a picture with the alien outside!

The mailbox was originally thought to belong to Area 51 when it actually belonged to one of the local ranchers. However, that didn't stop people from doing weird things to his mailbox like shooting it or leaving strange artifacts. The rancher eventually invested in a bulletproof mailbox, which has since been stolen (or taken by aliens?) and replaced by a regular mailbox.
Not a lot goes on in this sleepy village, but you sure won't forget the time spent here. Oh, and you might even witness something "otherworldly". It's a must-visit place if you have any sort of interest in extraterrestrials.
