2020 is looking to be a good year for up and coming attractions in Nevada. The city of Las Vegas especially is going to see some significant changes during the upcoming year, including the addition of a giant, 200,000-square-foot entertainment complex unlike any other you’ve seen before. Called Area 15, this new attraction is bound to be one of the most unique destinations in Sin City and it’s scheduled to open in just a few week’s time. So, what exactly is Area 15? Read on to learn all about it!
As one of the biggest projects opening to the public in Las Vegas this year, we simply can't wait to see what Area 15 has to offer. Described as "a destination, a platform, [and] an experience" that offers live events, immersive activations, and art installations, it's looking to be one of the most unique attractions we've ever seen.
An official opening date has yet to be released, but you can expect the grand opening to occur sometime in February 2020. Located just off the Las Vegas Strip, Area 15 seems like the type of place you have to see for yourself to fully believe.
Comprised of 200,000-square-feet (40,000 of which is event space), this place is absolutely massive and it looks like it will have a LOT to offer. The facility will be home to retail stores, restaurants, and lots of public art.
The facility itself will be free to enter. Although best described as a shopping center, visitors can expect that Area 15 will boast only the most unique experiences out there. Some retail concepts that have been announced for the space include virtual reality experience Nomadic, an ax-throwing venue called Dueling Axes, and a bar arcade called Emporium.
Additionally, a food hall will be available where you can enjoy a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Four-time James Beard winner Todd English will take control of the hall's primary food concept, joined by other unique shops such as Rocket Fizz Candy Shop and ice cream shop Emack and Bolio's.
Holding everything together at the heart of the complex will be an ever-changing art installation for visitors to enjoy. So far, this section boasts unbelievable pieces such as a 32-foot high bamboo volcano and a stainless steel art car from local sculptor Henry Chang.
Best of all, the lively and colorful space will be perfect for live music, festivals, private parties, tournaments, and so much more. Area 15 is looking to be just as strange as its name promises, so we will be counting down the days until this massive project is officially brought to life!
