Located in an unassuming corner pub, Pub N' Sub is a true Reno institution. Although it may look like your usual neighborhood hangout, this place is so much more than that.
Pub N' Sub has quite the impressive history. The owner, steve Mathers, first opened its doors in 1974. The building itself was built around 1950 and was originally home to a grocery store and meat market. Mathers purchased the building because he has a vision for a cozy neighborhood bar and deli, and he set out to bring that vision to life.
True to its name, Pub N' Sub specializes in brews and sandwiches, but they're pizza is what has made them famous. They serve up a variety of classic pizza pies, all of which are bound to perfectly hit the spot with a pint of crisp and cold beer.
Additionally, they boast over 20 different burger and sandwich creations. Sit inside and watch the game or converse with friends while indulging in a super stacked sub. Whoever gave bar food a bad rap obviously had never been here before!
The food is great, but it's the bar's cozy vibe that will have you falling in love. It's a popular college hangout spot, but it's also the type of place that people return to for years on end. Some of the pub's regulars were here when it first opened over 40 years ago.
Be sure to check out some of the pub's daily specials. On Monday, Friday, and Saturday, pizzas are just half price from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Thursday's Wing Night is also popular, since all wings are discounted to 50 cents each.
