Nevada’s only national park is just full of treasures waiting to be discovered. For most Great Basin lakes, the majority of their water comes directly from snowmelt. However, Teresa Lake is one of the only bodies of water in the park that also has a spring flowing into it.
If you'd like to reach this clear mountain lake, consider hopping on the park's Alpine Lakes Trail. The 2.7-mile round trip trail is a moderate hike with little elevation gain, and it takes you right to this spectacular beauty.
Before arriving at Teresa Lake, you'll pass by another mountain lake called Stella Lake. All the while, you'll enjoy a stupendous view of Wheeler Peak in the background—one of Great Basin's most impressive natural features. It looks especially stunning reflected in the lake's mirror-like waters!
Once you've made it to Teresa Lake, the trail will lead you back to the parking lot after meeting up with the Bristlecone Grove Trail. It's rare to see another person on the trail, and the mountain setting provides nothing but complete peace and quiet.
