Is there anything better than spending the day touring an amazing candy factory? We didn't think so. Reno's Kimmie Candy will let you do just that. Not to mention, it's completely free of charge!
Kimmie Candy was originally established in Sacramento back in 2000 by a third-generation farmer named Joe Dutra. By 2003, the factory was already making a name for itself with its iconic ChocoRocks winning a "Product of the Year" award at the Candy Grammys.
In 2005, Dutra relocated the factory to Reno, Nevada. The factory has grown in size over the years, but the production team has remained tight-knit with only around 30 employees.
You can see this whimsical candy factory for yourself by attending one of their free factory tours. Tours are scheduled daily and it's an amazing experience for anybody interested in candy production. In fact, it's a unique opportunity that the entire family can enjoy.
On the tour, you'll be guided through the entire factory and educated about the process of what goes into making Kimmie's delicious candy. Of course, there will be plenty of free samples to satiate your sweet tooth.
Afterwards, you can mingle in the gift shop and pick up some bags of freshly-made candy to take home with you. There's something about knowing exactly how the candy was made that makes it taste even better.
