Even though Nevada is a landlocked state, there are plenty of scenic lakes with campgrounds so you can actually camp right on the beach. Primarily located around Lake Mead and Lake Tahoe, here are seven spectacular beaches for a night, a weekend, or even a week of fun camping.
1. Nevada Beach Campground, Lake Tahoe
Nestled along the stunning blue water of Lake Tahoe is Nevada Beach. This beach campground provides dozens of camping areas for tents and RVs with gorgeous views of the lake. Additional camping amenities include tables, campfire rings, grills, accessible flush toilets, and drinking water.
2. Boulder Beach Campground, Lake Mead
Located inside Lake Mead National Recreation Park, Boulder Beach offers 154 campsites (115 of them for RVs complete with hookups) all with spectacular views of Lake Mead. Campers have access to toilets and running water, and each campsite has a fire pit and picnic table. This quiet campground gets consistently positive reviews for its amenities and the close proximity of the campsites to Lake Mead.
3. Pyramid Lake Marina Campground
Located just 40 miles from Reno, Pyramid Lake Marina Campground is a small RV campground with 44 spaces right on the water's edge. While there are no fire rings or picnic tables, guests are free to bring their own. Additional amenities include a laundry area, hot showers, small camp store, horseshoe pit, tetherball court, and, of course, stunning views of Pyramid Lake.
4. Warrior Point Park, Pyramid Lake
Located on the north side of Pyramid Lake, Warrior Point Park is perhaps the most "camping on the beach" beaches in the entire state. RV, tent, and trailer camping are permitted with a tribal permit purchasable at the on-site ranger station.
5. Callville Bay, Lake Mead
Located in Overton, Callville Bay Campground is a quaint area for tent and RV campers near the stunning blue waters of Lake Mead. Quiet hours are enforced, and clean water, bathrooms, and a marina store are located nearby.
6. Burnt Cedar Beach, Lake Tahoe
This stunning private beach has a slightly higher usage fee (about $30) than other Lake Tahoe beaches; however, the views of the lake and mountains are well worth it. In addition to camping, Burnt Cedar Beach has a bar and a family friendly snack area, kiddie pool, swimming pool, hot tub, and playground.
7. Echo Bay Campground, Lake Mead
Echo Bay boasts 166 campsites on its two large campgrounds (upper and lower) near the stunning blue water of Lake Mead. Tent and RV campers have access to bathrooms, running water, picnic tables, and fire pits. This is definitely one of the most popular beach campsites in the state.
