Without a doubt, bridges are amazing structures. And while some people love them, many are highly terrified of going over them. Nevada is home to some pretty amazing bridges. Some of these bridges are historic and modern, while others are abandoned or built to attract tourists. Listed below are nine bridges in Nevada that you should definitely check out.
1. Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge
This amazing bridge is located within the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and was the first concrete-steel composite arch bridge built in the United States. It spans the Colorado River between the states of Arizona and Nevada, and it opened in 2010.
2. Bridge in Wingfield Park
Wingfield Park is nestled within the heart of Reno's Riverwalk district. This popular park area contains several beautiful bridges and this one, in my opinion, is the most lovely.
3. A suspension bridge stretched across the Truckee River in Wadsworth, Nevada.
Are you brave enough to walk across this terrifying bridge?
4. A railroad bridge over the Humboldt River in Carlin Canyon.
This is just one of the many amazing railroad bridges located in Nevada.
5. Galena Creek Bridge
The Galena Creek Bridge, a twin-span concrete arch bridge in Washoe County, carries Interstate 580 and U.S. Route 395 over Galena Creek between the cities of Carson City and Reno. Supposedly, this bridge is the largest cathedral arch bridge in the entire world.
6. A historic 1907 railroad bridge in Wadsworth, Nevada.
I would've loved to have been around during this bridge's early days. It was such an amazing time in history! Isn't this bridge beautiful?
7. Farad Bridge
The Farad Bridge is located about 15 minutes from Reno. It's a popular swimming and jumping spot, as you can see in the photo above.
8. Another beautiful railroad bridge, located in Meyer, Nevada.
Historic railroad bridges help create some of the most beautiful scenery EVER!
9. Brooklyn Bridge @ New York-New York Hotel & Casino
Okay, so this isn't technically a bridge, but it's a replica of one of the most famous bridges in the country. The majority of tourists who have been to the Las Vegas Strip have walked across this replica bridge a time or two. Its architectural detail is FABULOUS!!!
