There’s a place in Nevada that actually calls itself a “Booze District” and it’s just as amazing as it sounds. Nevada is one of the best places to be in the country if you call yourself a beer, wine, or liquor “enthusiast”. Our state is full of craft breweries, distilleries, and wineries that make for the perfect daytime activity. This Booze District has all of the above located on just one block, making it the perfect place to spend a day taking in all the craft booze you can muster.
The "Artisan Booze District" is just a short drive away from the Las Vegas Strip in Henderson, Nevada. The district is a paradise for booze enthusiasts, containing three breweries, a winery, and a distillery.
The Las Vegas Distillery was the first producer of artisan spirits in Nevada after the Prohibition era. The public are welcome to the distillery for tastings and tours.
At the Las Vegas Distillery, you can sample some of the finest whiskey and vodka offered in the state. A popular choice among guests is the incredibly delicious Grandma's Apple Pie Moonshine.
The distillery is closed to the public on Sunday and Monday. Tours are held on weekdays at 3 pm and on Saturday at 12 pm, 2 pm, and 4 pm. The tours are a great way to learn about the different types of alcohol and the history of distilleries in Vegas. Tastings are held after each tour.
CraftHaus Brewery is another place you must visit in the Booze District.
CraftHaus boasts a fun and casual tap room, perfect for sampling their wide selection of "traditional, but tweaked" brews. You are even able to view the brewery at work and the fermentation process from large viewing windows in the tap room.
Small snacks are served from their kitchen and there's usually a food truck serving up some delicious street food.
Tours of the brewery are held every Saturday at 11 am and will get you a four glass tasting flight for only $10.
Bad Beat Brewing is where it all started. This brewery was the very first taproom in the Booze District. This no-frills brewery lets their beer speak for itself.
Bad Beat started brewing in 2014 and has been going strong ever since. All of their beers are brewed, bottled, and canned on site and are distributed throughout Nevada only.
Bad Beat is a poker-themed brewery that is committed to preserving the community atmosphere within their taproom.
They regularly hold board game events and have a collection of classic games which are sure to bring out your inner child. Beer and games...it doesn't get much better than that! You can even view the inner workings of the brewery via the shuffleboard room.
Maybe you're more of a wine person. Well, the Booze District is still the place for you. Grape Expectations calls itself a "School of Winemaking" and it's a school you definitely won't mind attending.
Anybody (over 21 years of age, of course) can become a winemaker at Grape Expectations. This place allows you to make your very own barrel of wine. How cool is that?
You and your group will completely the necessary "hands on" tasks to convert the juice from the grapes into wine. It's a delightfully satisfying process that you won't soon forget.
Making the wine yourself requires four different sessions over a span of around 8 months. From selecting the grapes to bottling the wine, you get to do it all. This is an experience that all wine enthusiasts must partake in.
The Booze District in Henderson truly has something for everyone. It’s a great place to get away from the craziness of the Strip. Have you visited the Artisan Booze District? Why not go all out and commit to this Picture Perfect Winery Road Trip To Sample Nevada’s Best Wines ?
