Sure, small town living is great, but sometimes you’ve got to visit larger cities for quality dining and entertainment. Many of the bigger cities in Nevada have unlimited options when it comes to dining and entertainment and I’ve listed 10 of these cities below.
1. Las Vegas
Las Vegas is the county seat of Clark County and is located in Nevada's Mojave Desert. It's Nevada's largest city and is known for its 24-hour casinos and endless dining and entertainment options. Las Vegas refers to itself as the "Entertainment Capital of the World."
2. Henderson
Henderson, located in Clark County, is known for its beautiful residential areas. It has been named as "One of the Best Cities to Live in America" by Bloomberg Businessweek, and in 2014, it was ranked as one of the Top 10 "Safest Cities in the United States" by the FBI Uniform Crime Report. Shopping malls, restaurants and casino resorts offer Henderson residents and visitors a variety of choices for leisure time.
3. Reno
Reno is the county seat of Washoe County and is known as "The Biggest Little City in the World." It's famous for its casinos, but Reno is home to many other attractions. These attractions include the National Automobile Museum, National Bowling Stadium, Truckee River Whitewater Park and the Reno Air Races.
4. North Las Vegas
North Las Vegas, located in Clark County in the Las Vegas Valley, is known for its industrial, commercial and residential development. One of the best places to stay in North Las Vegas is Cannery Casino Hotel, which offers free live entertainment from top artists.
5. Enterprise
Formed in 1996, Enterprise is an unincorporated town in Clark County. The Mountains Edge community and Town Square is located in Enterprise. Town Square is an upscale dining, business, fashion and entertainment center.
6. Carson City
Carson City was founded in 1858 and is the capital city of Nevada. Downtown Carson City offers several dining and entertainment options. For those interested in history, there are many historical landmarks located throughout Carson City, such as the State Capitol Building and the historic St. Charles Hotel. The St. Charles Hotel (pictured above) was built in 1862 and is one of the oldest continuously operating hotels in Nevada.
7. Spring Valley
Spring Valley was formed in 1981 and is an unincorporated town in Clark County. Chinatown is a popular area in Spring Valley and includes a variety of pan-Asian businesses.
8. Sparks
Sparks, established in 1905, is located east of Reno in Washoe County. A few tourist attractions in this Nevada city include the Great Basin Brewing Company, Nugget Casino Resort and Sparks Marina Park.
9. Sunrise Manor
Sunrise Manor, formed in 1957, is an unincorporated town in Clark County. According to the website Neighborhood Scout, Sunrise Manor's median real estate price is $21,989--making it one of the most affordable places to live in Nevada.
10. Paradise
Paradise is an unincorporated town in Clark County and is adjacent to the city of Las Vegas. Because the majority of the Las Vegas Strip is in Paradise, visitors will have endless dining and entertainment options. The McCarran International Airport is also located in Paradise.
