Who doesn’t love themed restaurants? Whether surrounded by aliens, music or movie memorabilia, clowns, animals, or whatever, dining in a restaurant truly immersed in a particular theme is an experience never to be forgotten. Given that Las Vegas is the home to themed hotels in Nevada, several of these wonderful and popular themed restaurants are located there; however, a few others exist around the state.
1. Little A'Le'Inn, SR 375, Rachel (775) 729-2515
Located off Nevada's infamous Extraterrestrial Highway, the Little A'Le'Inn Restaurant, Bar, and Motel is a fun stop for the entire family with, perhaps, one of the best appropriate themed restaurants in the entire state. Incidentally, Rachel is the closest town to the mysterious Area 51.
The restaurant has some of the most amazing burgers, as well as other standard lunchtime fare such as macaroni salad, french fries, country-fried steak, amazing pies, and homemade jerky (that is sold in the gift shop.)
An alien-themed gift shop is also a popular tourist draw.
2. Rainforest Cafe, 3717 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas (702) 891-8580
Marketed as "a wild place to shop and eat," Rainforest Cafe's jungle-themed atmosphere, tasty food, and huge gift shop are a must-see.
Rainforest Cafe's menu features several delicious items and tropical treats, including appetizers, exotic salads, burgers, sandwiches, seafood, steaks, chicken and pastas. A kid's menu and amazing desserts round out what will be a wonderful outing for the entire family.
The epitome of themed restaurants, everywhere you look in the Rainforest Cafe, there are animatronic jungle animals in a jungle-themed space. Kids absolutely love this place!
3. Johnny Rockets, 2500 E. 2nd Ave. (inside the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino), Reno (775) 333-5200
Take a trip back in time with Johnny Rockets All-American diner. This 50's diner serves fresh, delicious food in a fun atmosphere complete with dancing servers and twirling straws.
Johnny Rockets has traditional diner fare such as burgers, fries, shakes and malts, salads, Philly steak sandwiches, onion rings, and good ole' grilled cheese, among other tasty treats.
Decorated like a 50's diner, Johnny Rockets is a family favorite.
4. The Dillinger Food & Drinkery, 1224 Arizona St., Boulder City (702) 293-4001
This gangster-themed eatery is located inside an old bank and is decorated with period-1920's decor.
The restaurant is known for its scrumptious burgers and craft beer.
Keeping in tune with the gangster theme, burgers have such names as the Dillinger, Capone, Baby Face Nelson, Bugsy, and Executioner. There are also delicious salads, sandwiches, desserts, and a kid's menu.
5. Planet Hollywood, 3500 Las Vegas Blvd. South (inside the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace), Las Vegas (702) 791-7827
Not to be confused with the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, Planet Hollywood the restaurant is located inside of Caesar's Palace.
The menu has something for everyone. From appetizers to salads to burgers to pizzas to steak to chicken to fish to desserts (and more), you are guaranteed to find something you and your entire family (even picky children) will love.
This Hollywood-themed eatery features movie memorabilia and distinctive Hollywood decor throughout. There is also a gift shop with movie-themed items.
6. Le Cirque, 3600 Las Vegas Blvd. South (inside the Bellagio), Las Vegas (702) 693-8100
This high-end, AAA Five Diamond-rated French restaurant with a circus theme is quite the dining experience.
Amazing and classical French fare is on the menu, from appetizers through entrees to desserts.
The circus theme lends an air of whimsy to the dining room while the magnificent views of the Bellagio's famed fountains further solidify the whimsical ambiance.
7. Oceano, 2707 S. Virginia St. (inside the Peppermill), Reno (775) 826-2121
Oceano is an incredible seafood and sushi restaurant in Reno. In addition to its award-winning seafood dishes, the fun, underwater atmosphere makes dining here an experience to remember.
The extensive menu consists of all-you-can-eat sushi, specialty catches, stews, and chowders. Oceano has received numerous awards for its impressive food such as Reno's Best Seafood from the Reno Gazette-Journal and Casino Player Magazine's Best Seafood Restaurant.
The interior is a whimsical mix of bright lights, jellyfish lamps, and various other sea life art adorning the walls and ceiling.
8. Mom & Pop's Diner, 224 S. Carson St., Carson City (775) 884-4411
Mom & Pop's Diner is a second-generation, family-owned diner specializing in homestyle food with a tropical flair.
Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Mom & Pop's serves traditional breakfasts, salads, sandwiches, burgers, melts, and a variety of Hawaiian-inspired dishes like rice bowls and pulled pork.
In addition to the cute dining area, Mom & Pop's has a small Hawaiian-themed gift shop.
9. Hard Rock Cafe, 3771 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas (702) 733-7625
Since 2009, the Las Vegas Hard Rock Cafe has been the most state-of-the-art Hard Rock Cafe in the world.
The menu is chock full of amazingly delicious breakfast, appetizer, salad, burger, sandwich, smokehouse, and grill dishes.
Featuring a whopping 42,000 square feet, the Las Vegas Hard Rock Cafe provides three floors of non-stop entertainment and action with the world's largest Rock Shop, an interactive Rock Wall, a contemporary bar and lounge, patio dining, and gorgeous unobstructed views of the Las Vegas Strip.
