Consisting of 5,500-acres of pristine, perfectly remote wilderness, Beaver Dam State Park somehow makes you feel a million miles away from civilization. This also means that recreational activities like camping, hiking, photography, and fishing are delightfully abundant.
The Oak Knoll Trail is a great way to explore the park. Be sure to bring your fishing rod because this easy trail descends right to the stream where you can try your hand at catching rainbow trout.
The Waterfall Trail is another adventure worth looking into at this gorgeous park. This moderate trail shows off several of the old Civilian Conservation Corps structures from 1934-35. It also boasts incredible scenery including warm springs and waterfalls.

Consider going the extra mile and planning a weekend camping trip at this isolated paradise. Beaver Dam contains two developed campgrounds where sites are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Keep in mind that drinking water is only available from April through November.
