While many “foreigners” think gambling when they hear “Nevada,” the fact remains that there are so many other rewarding activities in the Silver State that have nothing to do with gambling. From hiking to skiing to rock climbing to exploring ghost towns to visiting museums and beyond, there is certainly no lack of rewarding activities that have nothing to do with gambling. Take an informative one-hour guided tour through the modern engineering marvel that is the Hoover Dam while learning about its construction. Explore lesser known areas of the dam and the power plant. If you've never done this, you must.
Take a guided tour by park rangers who will explain the geology, history, and ecology of the caves. Choose between the Lodge Room and Grand Palace tours. Both are utterly amazing. Of course, Great Basin National Park is full of other incredible activities and attractions.

Sand Harbor, near Incline Village, is one of the most photographed places in the state, as well as one of the most beautiful. So much so, that private photography tours are available. Make your own tour and capture some stunning pictures of the lake, the gorgeous mountains, and world-famous Bonsai Rock.

Perhaps the most haunted of all Nevada ghost towns, Goldfield's rich mining history and troubled past adds to its creepiness. While you're there, be sure to take a side trip to the impressive and interesting car forest. They are both well worth your time.
