You know how a restaurant can get a lot of “buzz” and then you eat there and wonder what everyone was thinking? Here are 7 dining establishments around the state of Nevada that deserve their fame.
1. Raku
There's a reason why Conde Nast named
Raku one of the world's best restaurants. Reservations are highly recommended and this is the spot local chefs go to when they want to dine out. Location: 5030 West Spring Mountain Road, Suite 2 in Las Vegas
2. Campo
Campo is a local favorite with excellent Italian cuisine made with local ingredients. The restaurant's location is the perfect dining place with its view of the Truckee River and downtown Reno. Location: 50 North Sierra Street in Reno.
3. The Coffee Cup
The "World Famous" Coffee Cup was featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Open for scrumptious breakfast and lunch, this place is always packed with happy customers. Location: 512 Nevada Way in Boulder City
4. Harrah's Steakhouse
Harrah's Steakhouse is one of Reno's most loved fine dining establishments and its perfect for a romantic date or celebration. It's the first Northern Nevada restaurant to be placed on the Nation's Restaurant News' "Fine Dining Hall of Fame." Location: 219 North Center Street in the Harrah's Reno Casino in Reno.
5. Lotus of Siam
Lotus of Siam is known for not looking spectacular on the outside, but reservations called days in advance are highly recommended to get a table. Locals love this place for their amazing Thai food. Location: 953 E Sahara Ave, Ste A5 in Las Vegas.
6. Great Gardens
Great Full Gardens has three locations in Reno, one of which is an express version for students at UNR. Reno natives love this place for its many delicious options for vegans, vegetarians and those following a gluten-free or paleo diet. And there's plenty for meat lovers as well! Midtown location is at 555 South Virginia Street, #107 and South Reno location is at 748 South Meadows Parkway, Suite A-14. The express version is at the Joe Crowley Student Union, UNR.
7. Tacos El Gordo
Long lines can always be found at lunch time at Tacos El Gordo, a Las Vegas institution. There are now three locations in Las Vegas and they all serve mouthwatering Tijuana style Tacos. Locations: 3049 South Las Vegas Boulevard, 3260 Losee Road North and 1724 East Charleston Boulevard.
