This 7.8-acre outdoor art exhibit is the brain child of the late Polish-Belgian artist Albert Szukalski. These "ghosts" are arranged in a variety of ways and are quite impressive. Located midway between Las Vegas and Mesquite and so named for its brilliant red rocks, the Valley of Fire should not be missed. For a $10 day pass, you can explore the majestic rock formations and canyons, marvel over the stunning colors, and take a few interesting hikes.

Picnic at the largest man-made reservoir in the U.S., partake of the myriad types of water activities, or visit the impressive Hoover Dam. There is a $20 entry fee to the park, but it is well worth it. If you want to see the dam up close and personally, there are several Hoover Dam tour options which start at $15. Again, this tour is well worth the nominal price.
