Spring is right around the corner, and it’s time to dust off those hiking boots and hit the trail. Here’s an easy hike to get you started.

The Ed Zorinsky Recreation Area is located at 156th & F Streets in West Omaha.

The lake and park were named after Ed Zorinsky, who was a U.S. Senator representing Nebraska from 1976 to 1987.
Zorinsky Lake covers 255 acres and is a popular spot for fishing and boating.

The lake is full of walleye and bass. The lake is open to non-motorized boats, and is a peaceful place to canoe or kayak.
The loop trail is 7.8 miles long, but it's fairly flat and considered easy for most hikers.

Much of the trail is shaded, which is perfect for summer hiking.
Along the way, you'll have plenty of lake views, and witness some of Nebraska's most scenic natural beauty.

While it can be quite busy on weekends, during the weekday this trail is pretty quiet.
